Smart Devices and Systems (IoT) Cluster
Smart Devices and the Internet of Things
The Internet of Things (IoT) is emerging as a major economic driver in Northeast Ohio that has the potential to increase manufacturing productivity for the region. By 2023, it is estimated that IoT will create $400 trillion in profitability enhancement opportunities, spanning all major industrial sectors.*
Through its Smart Devices and Systems Cluster, Team NEO is working to accelerate IoT’s impact in the region. Formerly known as FlexMatters, which focused on flexible electronics, the Smart Devices and Systems Cluster now includes a broader focus than its predecessor.
While IoT plays an important role across many industries, the Cluster is currently focusing its efforts on Smart Manufacturing and Smart Healthcare. With assistance from its working groups, the Cluster is building out supply chains in these focus areas to create opportunities for regional businesses.
