RhinoSystems will occupy 65,000 square feet in former American Greetings building
CLEVELAND, Ohio, July 30, 2018 – RhinoSystems Inc., developer, manufacturer and marketer of Naväge Nasal Care, has announced it will expand and bring 117 new healthcare jobs to Brooklyn. The company plans to lease more than 65,000 square feet of the 1.6 million-square-foot former American Greetings building, which now serves as an industrial park.
“It’s been an amazing ride. It started at our kitchen counter, moved to Lorain County Community College’s GLIDE Incubator, then 25,000 feet in Brooklyn Heights, and now 65,000 feet in Brooklyn!” said Martin Hoke, President of Rhino Systems. “We’re especially grateful to the State of Ohio and to the City of Brooklyn and its Mayor and Council, without whose support the relocation would have been extremely difficult if not impossible. I also want to thank the developer, Chris Semarjian, his son Austin, and their entire organization, all of whom have demonstrated exemplary professionalism and a commitment to excellence on this project.”
Established in 2007, Brooklyn Heights-headquartered RhinoSystems has seen new sales and demand steadily increase over the past several years as it has introduced consumers to innovative products such as Naväge Nasal Care, a device providing fast, drug-free relief from allergies and sinus congestion. The company’s quest for a new production facility for Naväge Nasal Care spurred its interest in the industrial park.
The new facility will be specifically designed for Naväge Nasal Care to continue to grow and flourish. The renovation includes a high-tech space as well as a gorgeous, park-like setting of the former American Greetings campus.
BioEnterprise, JobsOhio and Team NEO worked together to support RhinoSystems’ expansion.
“RhinoSystems is experiencing fast growth, and speed to market was essential to bringing this expansion and 117 new jobs to Brooklyn,” said Aaron Pitts, JobsOhio senior managing director for healthcare. “We appreciate the collaborative effort with Team NEO and BioEnterprise to attract RhinoSystems to this site, which is helping boost Northeast Ohio’s reputation as a robust healthcare innovation cluster.”
Aram Nerpouni, president and CEO of BioEnterprise, said, “We are pleased to see the expansion of RhinoSystems in Northeast Ohio. This growth is a testament to the region’s strong healthcare industry and commitment to improving health and well-being.”
Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler added, “We are delighted to see RhinoSystems expand in Northeast Ohio, where our region’s biomedical industry has grown from 300 companies in 2002 to more than 700 companies today thanks to Northeast Ohio’s talent, innovation and supply chain. We look forward to supporting their ongoing success.”
About RhinoSystems, Inc.
RhinoSystems was established in 2007 by Martin Hoke in response to his belief that saline nasal irrigation was an exceptional therapy for the natural relief of sinus congestion without drugs, but with extremely limited delivery systems.
Hoke came up with the idea of using powered suction to PULL saline through the nasal cavity as opposed to the neti pot and nasal squeeze bottle that PUSH, resulting in a neater, more consistent, and more convenient delivery system. That idea led to the creation of the Naväge Nose Cleaner and Naväge Nasal Care, and the issuance of over 60 patents worldwide.
Naväge is available online at navage.com, Amazon, more than 6,000 CVS Pharmacies nationwide, and also at Discount Drug Mart.
RhinoSystems is a closely held Ohio corporation funded by Hoke and over 70 individuals, mostly from Northeast Ohio.
