Nela Park Brings Back Beloved Holiday Tradition

Nela Park Holiday Light Display Opens for Drive-Through Traffic

For the past 93 years, General Electric’s Nela Park has been the site of one of the most famous and beloved holiday light displays. This year, Nela Park will open its campus to enable visitors to drive-through its displays, a tradition not enjoyed since the 1950s.

Spanning 92 acres along Noble Road in East Cleveland, visiting Nela Park’s holiday light display has become a favorite holiday pastime for many Northeast Ohio families. GE decided to re-open its campus to drive-through visitors after hearing stories from those who remember winding through its winter wonderland with their families more than 60 years ago. This year, Nela park aims to create fond memories for a new generation as the scenes will use more than 500,000 LED lights. The on-campus display has been in the works for several months, with many eager to bring this beloved tradition back to Northeast Ohio.

The displays inside Nela Park will be open to the public during limited times – December 8, 15 and 22 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Only non-commercial passenger cars, trucks and vans will be permitted.

Like in years past, Nela Park will also feature its traditional display outside its gates. Outdoor displays along Noble Road south of Euclid Avenue will be illuminated from 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 1 through Monday, January 1, and can be viewed from a vehicle or on foot.
