Want to put your finger on the pulse of Northeast Ohio? Your best bet is Twitter only if you know whom to follow. Recent developments like the RNC coming to Cleveland in 2016 (#RNC2CLE) and Lebron James’s 2nd Decision (#Decision2) broke on Twitter first with commentary all over the country (inspiring this front page USA Today Story). If you want to know what’s happening in real time, you have to be on Twitter.
Who you follow is up to you and what type of content you are looking for but it helps to have a place to start. Consider creating different lists to organize your followers into so you can consolidate the information into categories. With Twitter lists, it’s like you can create a newspaper of your own choosing and determine which writers go to which sections. I’ve picked a few of my favorite NEO accounts including commercial brands as well as personal accounts.
The people at CLE+ and I purposefully left this list brief to encourage community input (just see some twitter responses here!). Our tight-knit CLE+ community offered their suggestions which have since been added to the list (*=community submitted handle).
