Site Selection Magazine Releases Annual Governor’s Cup Rankings
In March, Site Selection Magazine released its annual Governor’s Cup rankings with Ohio earning high marks yet again. For the fourth consecutive year, Ohio earned the No. 2 spot overall for total projects; it also earned the No. 3 spot in projects per capita, making Ohio the only state to place in the top three of both categories.
Northeast Ohio Results
While the state performed well as a whole, cities across Northeast Ohio also earned high marks.
Akron placed in the top 10 for projects in the Tier 2 Metros category (population between 200,000 and 1 million). The Cleveland-Elyria metro area placed in the top 10 within the East North Central region. In addition, Wooster and Ashland were named to the magazine’s top 10 Micropolitan list. Micropolitans are defined as cities with populations of of 10,000 to 50,000.
